VA Q&A with Andrew Paul: What are VA Non-Allowable Fees?

What is a VA Non-Allowable Fee?

VA Non-Allowable Fees are fees that are not allowed to be paid for by veteran. They can be paid for by the seller, Realtor, or lender, but the veteran cannot pay for them. The VA manual provides a list of VA Allowable Fees, so anything not on there is a non-allowable.

Some examples of Non-Allowable Fees are:

– Escrow fees

– Tax service fees

– Notary fees

– Loan closing or settlement fees

– Document preparation fees

– Etc.

If you would like a list of allowable fees or have any questions, contact Andrew Paul at (619) 266-7600
